Christmas wishes

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a super Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Altough I am not 'closing' for the holiday period I will be very busy with clearing up admin and completing the lastest wedding album ready for the printers in the New Year.

I would like to thank everyone for their custom and support. And I would like to thank Tim for getting the revamped website up and running.

Sarah and Sam, I'm looking forward to the Boudoir shoot when the children go back to school, I'll have the wine on ice and the heating turned up.

Wedding of Lisa and Paul Maidenhead

Saturday saw the wedding of Lisa and Paul at Elva Lodge in Maidenhead. We were very lucky and the rain held off although it did get a little cold for Lisa whilst taking the formals. I am currently working on the images and they will be ready to view via the website client area, hopefully, by Friday. The password for the gallery will be Lisa's maiden name followed by Paul's surname. Lisa had a little surprise in the number of motorcycles that escorted her to the venue, she thought there would be only 2 and I believe it was 11 in the end.

Hope the house move goes well for you both and I will speak with you soon.

Wow what a night!

Last night I attended the Tao Awards for 2008 held at 'The Apartment' in Swindon. It was hosted by the lovely Andy Cotton owner of Tao Productions. Tao handle event management, festival management, corporate event productions, the list is endless. Check out their website www.Taoproductions.co.uk. Amongst the famous faces were the beautiful Angie Best, Michelle Gayle (Eastenders) and 'The stars from The Commitments', to name a few.

Thank you Andy for asking me to come along to photograph the event, I had a fabulous time and look forward to working with you and your team again. And to all of you in the band, BRILLIANT, loved every minute. Your website says you are "the worlds hardest working band", I can believe that. I have some smashing photos of you all, I'll forward them on.

I'm editing the photographs today then getting ready for Lisa and Pauls wedding in Maidenhead on Saturday, so more updates next week.

Busy couple of weeks coming up

Just a quick blog update. The R&R I hoped for last weekend did not happen but never mind, a very successful weekend of decorating at Grand dads house. Hope he likes it.

Wedding photography Maidenhead and Boudoir photography

I have a busy couple of weeks coming up, as have taken three bookings today for Boudoir photography and I have the wedding of Paul and Lisa to photograph in a couple weeks time. I will be popping down to the wedding venue to have a scout around at the beginning of next week. (It is always advisable to have a look so there will be no hidden surprises on the big day). And of course I will be having the final pre-wedding meeting with them both, to finalise the list of formal shots and timings for the big day.

I am having my links list updated on the website with a couple of truly beautiful venues and I have mentioned a chap from http://www.windsorcaricatures.co.uk/ , check him out if you fancy an unusual addition to your wedding day. He does some really amazing drawings.

October 13th 2008

Well as is usual for me the weekend did not go as expected. However, I took some photographs of James for his agency, take a look below at a couple of the shots. James is a budding actor and has already been in some advertisements on television. Hopefully he will get that all important 'big break' soon. Although his agency are having the shots in black and white, the colour versions are lovely.

The website is on Google now although there are still some minor alterations we need to do. I'm busy with some wedding processing over the next few days, then hopefully some r&r (in between decorating!).

I am currently running a special offer on Boudoir Photography. If you are interested and local to Maidenhead in Berkshire, please email me via the contact page of my website http://www.jennytonkin.co.uk/

Further update re the website

New client area is now on and ready for me to upload images. So it looks like I will have a busy day tomorrow. I don't think there is much else to do on the website so we should be able to put it back up very soon. Web address is http://www.jennytonkin.co.uk/ the blog will be linked in so you can get here from there.

The weather is looking good for the weekend so I may get out for a walk, camera to hand of course and take some more photographs for the stock agency I supply.

Take a look at the site over the next few days if you have a moment, I hope you will like it.

website update

We are very nearly there with the website now. The client area has been totally revamped and should be linked to the site shortly. Then images from the Maidenhead thicket pre wedding shoot for Lisa and Paul will be available for friends and family to view.

The 'Trash the Dress' images will be loaded on to the gallery section shortly. That was such great fun and Camilla was very brave to go into the river. It certainly was a surprise for some of the Cookham residents. Don't forget, if any of you are interested in participating in such a session, even if I did not photograph your wedding, full details are on the website www.jennytonkin.co.uk .

September 2008

Hi, I am Jenny Tonkin and this is my first blog posting. My website should be up and running within the next couple of days (go Tim!), but in the meantime I thought I would get the blog going.

It's been a busy month so far with sorting the website out and working as well.

At the beginning of the month it was off to sunny Devon. Not so sunny at the start of that particular weekend though. We had to drive through a number of flooded roads before reaching Sidmouth. Anne and Don had very kindly booked us into the lovely Kingswood Hotel with a room overlooking the sea front and after a bracing walk I made my way to the Victoria Hotel, which was to be the venue for the Golden Wedding celebrations the next day. I feel it is important to always visit the venue before an event. Not only do you have the chance to introduce yourself to the staff, but it is an excellant opportunity to look around and assess the location and the lighting. After all, if it is pouring of rain you cannot take photographs in the garden!

We were incredibly lucky with the weather the next morning, sun shining, not too much wind and lovely and warm. Family photographs were taken outside in the gardens of the hotel and informal, candid shots were taken throughout the rest of the day. The Victoria Hotel has so many lovely large windows that the lighting was so good, I was able to use my Canon IS lenses without flash for the majority of the celebrations, even when it started to pour with rain outside.

A couple of days ago I had the pleasure of photographing a 'pre-wedding' shoot for Lisa and Paul who are getting married in Maidenhead in November. We had made the arrangement for Saturday morning after the weather forecast had given a sunny day. What did we wake up to? Thick fog! We decided to take the plunge and up to the woods at Maidenhead Thicket we went. I am so glad we did, the sun shone through and what a beautiful morning it became.

Lisa and Paul pre Wedding Photograph Maidenhead Thicket

Part of the reason for doing a 'pre-wedding' shoot is to help the 'bride and groom' get used to a camera clicking away in front of them. I think Lisa and Paul would both agree it worked. Paul admitted he had been quite nervous beforehand, but they both got used to me very quickly. I am really looking forward to photographing the wedding, these guys are going to be so much fun!
